I just delivered a research project for a broadcaster in a relatively small market. The study contained the opinions of 600 people.
Now this market, like virtually all markets, has its radio usage measured by Nielsen – in this case, by diaries.
Do you know how long it takes Nielsen to recruit a sample in this market as large as the sample in my research project?

The executives of EBU who were in Athens for a meeting with NERIT administration yesterday have not been convinced that the new Greek Public Broadcaster is in full operation. Therefore, EBU has not accepted yet the request of NERIT to be a full member of the union of public broadcasters in Europe.
One majour issues, is that NERIT has not yet succeeded to hire more than 25 personnel, whereas the rest of the content is still produced by the interim broadcaster set up last September by the Ministry of Finances. Read more »EBU does not recognize the Greek Public Broadcaster as a member yet
Konstantinos Polyzogopoulos, the professor of Law who used to be a member of NERIT's administration board, resigned today. The Trust Board is seeking a replacement.
Greece's new Public Broadcaster NERIT came as a replacement after the closure of the old Broadcaster ERT. NERIT has undergone major turbulances, as a result of the huge delays, the organization problems and internal conflicts. Edit: New CEO of Greek public broadcaster NERIT will be Antonis Makridimitris, Professor of Management at the University of Athens. The new public broadcaster of Greece has got into new adventures, as the dismissal of the CEO Giorgos Prokopakis has been announced. He has been accused for the absolute failure to have a "clean start" for the new broadcaster, as in the end the interim governmental service "DT" is extending its operation, with the only difference that the logos and the websites have been slightly tweaked. They commented a statement by writer Avgoustos Korto, where he said that he is not going to be a candidate in the upcoming elections, reminding that he remains "devoted to his man and his books". It was announced that Verykios will be judged by the Journalists' Union, and he later posted an apology. Read more »Reactions as Greek radio journalists make fun of gay artist on air
A reminder that there are just two weeks left for you to listen to the Czech Republic on longwave, as it is marked for closure at the end of February. The ending of transmissions on 270 will leave a completely empty channel across Europe, presumably for the first time on either longwave or mediumwave since the early days of radio.
Recently, I've noticed that they cut the transmitter for its overnight break without ceremony either at exactly 2300 (sometimes on the very last pip) and sometimes in the middle of the 2300 news. I don't know which sounds more unprofessional! Read more » Czech Republic longwave to close by end of February
One single carrier of the Greek digital channels is ending up to be given a scandalous monopoly, acquired for a ridiculous price through a questionable auction; it will be a consortium of big private channels, which will be managing the nationwide, the regional but also possibly the public frequencies, reserving the right to filter out some content.
