As we had predicted, the identity and profile change of the former news radio of Antenna, had a negative effect on the radio coverage of the group in the countryside. The program of Antenna FM used to be relayed in the countryside via the frequences of a 25 "networked" radio stations. Many of these stations had a long history in this cooperation, whereas some of them had also chosen to use the name of Antenna for their frequency. Most of them have already started disconnecting from the network of the follow-up project "Easy 97,2" as it does not offer news programs and news flashes; instead they start connecting to other competitive news radios of Athens.
According to official data, the relaying has been interrupted by Antenna South Greece (Laconia Prefecture), Ichó 102.7 (Ioannina), Antenna Peloponnese (Argolida), Super 88 (Xánthi). Antenna South Greece now relays Vima FM and Super FM relays Real FM.
Whereas few months ago, Kyriakou Group, lead by Hansen from the Netherlands, converted the historical radio of Antenna to a lightweight news-entertaining radio, media criticists had been tough, claiming that "you can't throw a brand name in the trash bin". These last information shows that apart from the brand name, they threw away one of the greates relay networks in Greece. At the same time, the managers of the rural radio stations said that they were annoyed by the fact that there was absolutely no prior information for the interruption of the program and that they were astonished.
