Two radio stations ceased in Xanthi by EETT

Actions for locating and stopping illegal transmissions in the radio spectrum took place, as a result of the collaboration between the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) and the Police and Juridical authorities, in Xanthi prefecture, end of November 2011.

In particular, as a result of a legal process caught in the act, Police Security of Xanthi, in co-operation with technical experts of EETT and under the surveillance of a juridical servant, terminated the operation and confiscated the transmission equipment of two radio stations broadcasting from "Panagia, Xanthi" broadcasting centre; Orders for the cease of their broadcasting had been issued by the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV or ESR).

In particular, they refer to the radio stations above:

Radio Kanali Fantasia / Dream FM, broadcasting on 99.3MHz and
Dee Jay (90.6). It is notable for this particular station, that his appeal against the respective decision of the ESR in front of the High Court had been rejected.

These operations are part of EETT responsibility for surveillance, control and optimal administration of the radio spectrum, which is a valuable national resource, having though a crucial importance for the provision of modern and secure telecommunication services in Greece.
