The Greek Telecommunications Commission (EETT) charged a huge fine to a local radio station of Mytilene, Lesbos, as it changed frequency in order not to receive interference from a powerful station based in Turkey. Also, despite the complex geographical topography of the island, the station was not excused for using a second transmitter to broadcast to other areas. Illegal radio station seized, owner arrested in Larissa

A 45-year-old man was arrested in Elassona, Larissa, Central Greece for operating an illegal radio station. In particular, officers of the Police Department conducted a search in Elassona, on a settlement in a rural area of Elassona where they found and seized electronic devices and components thereof, installed in order to transmit on a certain frequency (92.5), which has not been legally approved for a radio station transmission in Larissa. Two radio stations ceased in Xanthi by EETT

Actions for locating and stopping illegal transmissions in the radio spectrum took place, as a result of the collaboration between the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) and the Police and Juridical authorities, in Xanthi prefecture, end of November 2011. Patras Ionion FM transmitter confiscated by police

On 5/9/2011 National Telecommunications Committee (EETT) in cooperation with the Police, raided the transmitter of Radio IONION FM 95,7 Achaia on Panachaiko Mountain and confiscated the whole equipment. The certificate of legal operation for IONION FM Achaia had been withdrawn from the ESR since 2010 following the decision 147/23.3.2010. The raid may cause reactions, given the good relationship of ownership with the regional radio owners' association (PEIRAS); a question has also been tabled before the Parliament by two local MPs. Illegal radio from Korinthos, shut down

Radio station without a name, broadcasting illegally from Corinth Kaletzi frequency 100,5 MHz, identified by National Post and Telecommunications Committee (EETT) and competent police and judicial authorities on 24/2/2011. In the same place, they also detected radio link transmission antenna systems and a wireless camera. In the frame of a flagrant case, the Police with the assistance of technical experts and the presence of EETT judicial officer, stopped the operation and proceeded to seize all equipment of that station. Illegal station in the outskirts of Kavala seized by the Police

The Police Department of Kavala intervened yesterday in the Greek city's radio scene with an operation in the Hill Vassilaki. The objective of the SC of Kavala was a radio station which had had his equipment seized once more, in April 2010. According to sources the operation was organized in cooperation with the National Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), which requested the assistance of Kavala Police.
