Athens radio owners block the transfer of bankrupt stations to the employees

The agenda of the plenary session of the Greek National Broadcasting Council (ESR) today included the application of the unpaid employees of news Flash radio, who want to acquire its frequency, as it is suggested by a recent law about bankrupt radio stations. According a report by Vassilis Koufopoulos, the Union of Owners of Private Radio Stations of Attica (EIIRA) intervened and asked to speak to the Council, which has been scheduled for next week. Major Greek TV channels about to merge

The merger of the two major Greek TV channels Mega and Star is going ahead. According to information published by "Paron" newspaper, their respective owners Psicharis and Bobolas have decided to go further with the proposal for merging the two TV stations into one single company, which will operate both channels, maintaining both of their frequencies. Kiss FM Patras expands to Achaia and Aetoloacarnania

The official website of the Kiss FM Patras announced that "Kissfm 92.2 got ready the new year and preparing for more to come. Despite the previous efforts to silence our voices, we fought and won. The country's highest court, the Council of State, in its decision No 1354/2010, vindicated Kiss FM 92,2, concluding that National Broadcasting Council (ESR) was mistaking on removing its license and of course that Patras police was also mistaking when they seized Kiss FM's equipment on summer 2010 in a police operational parody.
