SKAI initiated lawsuit against independent radio of Athens

The pressure put on the two self-organized radio station is due to the legal complaint that private radio station SKAI has submitted against Radio Entasi. This information derives from an announcement of Radio Entasi 100,1, which in fact is accusing SKAI for trasmitting an illegal "silent" signal on 100,6 MHz, in order to protect their 100,3, as well as for promoting fascists through its programs. Since yesterday, after pressure by the Public Prosecutor, Radio Entasi has been forcefull taken off-air, whereas Radio 98FM and Athens Indymedia have had their internet disconnected. Two majour Athens radio stations off-air after bankrupcy; frequencies empty

Athens radio stations Best Radio and VFM went off-air amidst high debts. Athens VFM and Best Radio being evicted

Eurobank (NBG) announced on Monday to those responsible for the Lymberis Publishing that the building of the company in Koropi has been sold. It should thus be empty until Friday noon. Municipal radio of Volos is ceasing operation

After twenty years of operation, Volos Municipal Radio prepares to silence in the coming months, after the dissolution of the body and the liquidation of its assets. The decision is expected to be taken by the Volos Municipal Council, which meets at noon on Friday.

Greek Church Radio employees struggle against the station's shutting down

The employees of the Greek Church Radio were shocked yesterday to watch what was going on at their radio station. The administration of the station, after futile attempts to proceed with an arbitrary cut on the wages and without any concern, decided unexpectedly to suspend the station's operation. Athens district radio ceased operation after transmitter stolen amid huge debt

Radio Xenios has officially ceased operation after many adventures in recent months, as confirmed by the representative of the employees. Ms Kitsaki in a press release, stated:

Turkish-speaking radio from Komotini to shut down due to economic crisis

Radio City, which has been broadcasting from Komotini on 107,6 FM in Turkish, decided to shut down, since it has been recently going through difficult times due to the economic crisis. The owner of Radio City, Chalit Impram Khalil, said that Radio City, which has been broadcasting uninterrupted for twenty years, will be shut down because of the economic crisis.

The end of an era for the "radio street" of Thessaloniki, as stations move away to save costs

The end of an era will be marked soon, as the 20-year-old studios of municipal radio at Thessaloniki's Angelaki str. are moving out, following a plan of its supervisor and municipal advisor, Sofia Aslanidou. According to her announcement before the municipal council, the municipal information company managed to get new premises in the Eteria Makedonikon Spoudon building, that now houses the municipal TV100, with no rent increase. The radio will be accommodated in the new rooms, while the existing facilities of television are being renovated. Patras Ionion FM transmitter confiscated by police

On 5/9/2011 National Telecommunications Committee (EETT) in cooperation with the Police, raided the transmitter of Radio IONION FM 95,7 Achaia on Panachaiko Mountain and confiscated the whole equipment. The certificate of legal operation for IONION FM Achaia had been withdrawn from the ESR since 2010 following the decision 147/23.3.2010. The raid may cause reactions, given the good relationship of ownership with the regional radio owners' association (PEIRAS); a question has also been tabled before the Parliament by two local MPs.
