A large number of guest speakers gave their views on the media. The allocation of radio awards of Greek and Cyprus will take place on Monday.

Speakers

Several key radio players were included in the list of guests who were invited to participate in a conference entitled "the path of radio". Among those invited to speak on the topic "Radio, history and development" were Lefteris Maroglou (Eroticos FM), Yannis Ioannidis (Laïkos fm), Pavlos Andronis (Metropolis), Stephanos Diamantopoulos (Radio Thessaloniki), Sotiris Vakaros (Rock Radio), The P. Sotirakis (Radio 1 99fm ), the Filios Stangkos (Municipal Radio of Thessaloniki), Georgios Papanicolaou (Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering) and Nikos Tsinikas (Professor of Architecture).

In the session about "Shaping the Future" spoke Miltos Karatzas (Director of music companies), Robert Williams (Music Loyalties Company AEPI), Dimitris Voudrislis (3ds.gr - Webdesign, Multimedia, Mobile European Applications), Konstantinos Margaritis (journalist affiliated with the EU Parliament), Nikos Petroulakis (ARENA fm), Betya Saleh (Brandcon)

An excellent start was done by Lefteris Maroglou, who said that radio was created as a communication tool, which declined with the advent of the commercials. He even urged young radio producers of the school radio network to keep the spontaneity and remain unaffected by the influence of the advertisers.

Greek Radio remains popular

Particular interest was attracted by a research presented by Noesis during the event, which demonstrates that the public of the radio in Greece remains significantly high. The survey was conducted on a sample of 490 individuals between 12 and 74 years old and demonstrates that a 74% listen to the radio between one and three hours daily.

According to the survey data, 19% of the audience listen to the radio in the car, 23% listen from a computer, 26% from the mobile phone and 30% remain on conventional radios. It is remarkable the "modern" devices (mobile, computer) have the same levels of use as traditional ones (car or home radio).

30% of the participants in the survey are between 12 and 15 years, 21% are 16 to 25 years, 21% betwen 26 and 35, 21% between 36 and 45, 15% between 46 and 55 years and 5% were over 56 years. It took place between May and December 2012, with the support of the educational institutions participating in the European School Radio and volunteers.
