The National Telecommunications and Post Commission of Greece shall enable the legal obligation on the registration of radio broadcast antennas for radio stations, that has official started on the beginning of the year. According to Commision, they invite radio stations across the country to do online registration and declaration of antenna systems by using the special web application "System for Electronic Filing" (SILYA), developed by the Authority. The deadline is set for June 17, 2015.
The process, as required by the law N.4313 / 2014, requires that within six months after its release, refers to the electronic registration of legal representatives or authorized persons and the examination and approval of they applications by the Authority. Then, the declaration of antenna systems for radio stations follows.
It is indicative of the chaos that prevailed over the years in terms of the public control of the radio, that after 25 years since the beginning of the private radio broadcasting, it is the first time that there will be a conherent record of antenna systems for radio stations including technical specifications. The relevant registration had been attempted several times before, but it received multiple postponements by the previous government. After protests by the owners of radio stations, the number of prerequisite documents has been significantly reduced.
