A significant deprivation of revenue for the sports radio is expected to come as a result of the new law, which prohibits the transmission of advertisements by unlicensed betting companies. Specifically, the law 4002/2011 banned "commercial communications for gambling except for companies to be authorized by the Greek state." As published by "Typologies", the first problems are to be seen soon, as for example in Sentra FM and "Goal News" where group-wide revenues in the balance sheets are 3.46% and from betting advertising on 0,73%. The radio station employees of Aris FM have been on strike since 80 days already. The sports radio station is controlled by Touronis group which has been facing severe facing financial problems, which resulted in the seizure of the entire equipment of Star FM, about a month ago. The technicians on strike are seeking payment of all debts (wages - Easter Bonus 2012) and ending of the lack of insurance for some of their colleagues. The fact that non-professional journalists are being "employed" by ERA Spor for sport coverage in Northern Greece, whatsmore without a salary, has been revealed by the journalist's union party "Asyntachtos Typos". In particular, "ERA Spor, the biggest sports channel with a nationwide coverage, instead of using the existing professional journalists, takes advantage of non-journalists, who are asked to offer particular services, without any salary. A violent incident between owners and workers took place during the 4-hour work stoppage by the sound engineers at Athlitika Nea Radio, in Thessaloniki. According to the Association of Radio Engineers in Macedonia and Thrace (ETERMTH), shortly before the start of the 4-hour work stoppage declared by the ETERMTH, the radio station manager Demetrios Skordas and Lambros Tatsikas (Director of Sport News newspaper) in an effort to reverse situation which had been against them, they made physical assaults against President of ETERMTH Konstantinos Hatzigeorgiou and Secretary Kosmas Stefanidis.
