The operation of the shortwave services installed in Avlida is going on under the responsibility of the redundant employees of ERT. The latter remain active and produce their own program, as they do not accept the decision of the government to shut down ERT. They have also started legal processes to declare the closure illegal. After having been forcefully evicted from the Radio House, they now rent on their own expenses a radio studio, right across the street of the Radio House. Shortwave frequencies had for a couple of weeks relayed the radio program of “Radio Station of Macedonia” by the redundant employees of ERT3, from Thessaloniki. The official interim public radio (one single service for entire Greece) so far does not care for taking over the shortwave resources in Athens. Probably they do not have the staff to operate them, as only the necessary personnel was hired to keep the single radio service running on FM.
