Radio Days Europe: 17-19 March, Berlin

Radiodays Europe is an annual pan-European radio conference for leaders from public service and commercial radio as well as related industries. Radiodays Europe is the largest and most important radio conference in Europe, with top expert speakers and sessions with a wide range of topics.

It is important for the European radio industry to have a common arena for discussing radio now and in the future. Radiodays Europe is that arena – a place where professionals from public service and commercial radio can meet, discuss, network, find inspiration and perhaps even provocation. The ultimate aim is to make better radio for the listeners.

Radiodays Europe presents development opportunities and strategic insights for broadcasters. What is next in programming and formats, audience behavior, digital platforms and business models? It is a conference for everyone dedicated to radio, including private and public service radio managers, programme directors and content developers, interactive managers and professionals in marketing, sales and audience research, working in radio and radio-related industries.

The first Radiodays Europe was held in Copenhagen in March 2010. The initiative came from the Nordic countries where joint public and private radio conferences have been held for years. The Danish, Norwegian and Swedish national “Radiodays” had been cooperating for a long Radiodays Europe draws from those experiences. The “Radiodays-organizers” from the Nordic countries are now heading the European conference.

Radiodays Europe got immediate and very strong support from the radio industry across Europe. At the third edition in Barcelona, Spain 2012 the conference had 800 participants from 45 countries. It was sold out weeks in advance. In all, the Radiodays Europe conference offered participants 80 speakers and a choice of 48 different sessions, which covered everything from new programming to music, news and social media. Surveys show that the participants were very satisfied with the conference.

The dialogue and transparency of the programming process is unique for a media conference and key to the success of Radiodays Europe. The advisory “Conference Committee” consists of knowledgeable people from a wide range of partner organizations in different countries and on a European level.

The supporters and official partners of Radiodays Europe represent a wide range of broadcasters and important players such as the EBU (public broadcasters), AER (private radios), egta (European saleshouses), WorldDMB and national radio conferences and radio organisations in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Russia and Slovenia.
