The transmitter of Radio Crete (Heraklion) in Chania on the frequency 99.2 has gone off air since a few weeks now. After many complaints and fines by the National Commitee of Telecommunications and then National Broadcasting Council, the Heraclion-based radio station decided to stop broadcasting in Chania. The other repeaters in eastern Crete (Heraklion and Lassithi) operate as normal. Radio Crete has been replaced in Chania by Radio Panikos
