Referring to the history of the stations, including interviews and memories, the local radios are remembering the long history of the public radio service in the countryside and honour its offer to the listeners and the land. As we had predicted, the identity and profile change of the former news radio of Antenna, had a negative effect on the radio coverage of the group in the countryside. The program of Antenna FM used to be relayed in the countryside via the frequences of a 25 "networked" radio stations. This incident took place some time ago at the center of Thessaloniki, when a group of young people tried to enter the studio of Radio Thessaloniki, which is being hosted in a little house, part of the Christmas decoration at Aristotélous Square; Stéfanos Diamantópoulos was there. A significant deprivation of revenue for the sports radio is expected to come as a result of the new law, which prohibits the transmission of advertisements by unlicensed betting companies. Specifically, the law 4002/2011 banned "commercial communications for gambling except for companies to be authorized by the Greek state." The radio station employees of Aris FM have been on strike since 80 days already. The sports radio station is controlled by Touronis group which has been facing severe facing financial problems, which resulted in the seizure of the entire equipment of Star FM, about a month ago. The final end of Xenios Radio was confirmed at the meeting of Tuesday (26/06) by the City Council of Phili. An arson attack with gas explosives occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 29 at the entrance of the radio station "Diavlos Rhodopis" in Komotini. An improvised explosive device was placed by unknown ones at the entrance of the building at the intersection of Zimvrakakidon and Themidos streets, where the radio station is based. It consisted of a gas bottle, on the edge of which a piece of cloth soaked with flammable material was attached. The explosion resulted in a minor fire which caused a slight damage to the entrance of the station, without being spread inside the offices. After twenty years of operation, Volos Municipal Radio prepares to silence in the coming months, after the dissolution of the body and the liquidation of its assets. The decision is expected to be taken by the Volos Municipal Council, which meets at noon on Friday.

A 45-year-old man was arrested in Elassona, Larissa, Central Greece for operating an illegal radio station. In particular, officers of the Police Department conducted a search in Elassona, on a settlement in a rural area of Elassona where they found and seized electronic devices and components thereof, installed in order to transmit on a certain frequency (92.5), which has not been legally approved for a radio station transmission in Larissa. The merger of the two major Greek TV channels Mega and Star is going ahead. According to information published by "Paron" newspaper, their respective owners Psicharis and Bobolas have decided to go further with the proposal for merging the two TV stations into one single company, which will operate both channels, maintaining both of their frequencies. Radio City, which has been broadcasting from Komotini on 107,6 FM in Turkish, decided to shut down, since it has been recently going through difficult times due to the economic crisis. The owner of Radio City, Chalit Impram Khalil, said that Radio City, which has been broadcasting uninterrupted for twenty years, will be shut down because of the economic crisis.

A violent incident took place in the morning, during the demonstration of ERT employees in front of the Parliament, due to the 4-hour strike (12-4 PM) that POSPERT and POESY unions have announced for today, affecting public broadcasting all around Greece. Police, who had earlied blocked the road with vehicles, pushed violently and without provocation the assembled employees. 350 ERT employees were beaten up at 1pm at the beginning of Vas Sofias str by police, who kicked them, punched them and pushed them back. On 5/9/2011 National Telecommunications Committee (EETT) in cooperation with the Police, raided the transmitter of Radio IONION FM 95,7 Achaia on Panachaiko Mountain and confiscated the whole equipment. The certificate of legal operation for IONION FM Achaia had been withdrawn from the ESR since 2010 following the decision 147/23.3.2010. The multilingual service of Voice of Greece (ERA5) on shortwave has been severely decreased during the last months. The summer schedule, which has been running from March and will continue until October, contains 4 international broadcasts of 3 hours daily in English, French, German and Russian. It actually broadcasts 2 fewer services than the previous semester, when it also featured two more programs, in Albanian and Italian, resulting into a multilingual program of 5 hours altogether. FM transmitter of Public Radio ERA of Corfu has been off-air since quite a few days. In their announcement, the administration of the local Greek radios station apologized to the listeners for the long interruption of service, which "is attributed to a serious equipment failure of the FM transmitter. Technicians of ERT are making a strong effort in order to solve the problem, by turning the transmitter back on, as soon as possible. The possible reopening of the municipal radio station of Kavala has been being examined for the last month by the City Council of Kavala, after a proposal by Mayor C. Simitsis. A solution was proposed to assign the operation of the station to a private body, but it caused "doubts about the transparency on using an asset of the municipality.
