A criminal prosecution for inciting infidelity felony brought by the Public Prosecutor against media owner Stavros Psycharis, for having been granted unsustainable loans that infringe the curent banking legislation. The Public Prosecutor accused as direct perpetrators of infidelity the responsible executives of Alhpa Bank, who granted personal loans totaling 57 mil. Euro, without having obtained adequate collateral guarantees.
Stavros Psycharis has been a leading figure of the political economic and media life of Greece. He is the CEO of Lambrakis Media Group, involving the majour TV channel Mega, the radio station Vima FM and two newspapers.
The use of unsustainale loans to save particular majour media organizations from going bankrupt, despite the banking crisis, has been criticized as a sign of corruption involving former governments, the media and the Greek banking sector.
